Magic mystery oil to raise/stabilize/even out compression?
I have some minimal blow by, my rings are going south...
My number 4 cylinder is ready in at 125PSI, while number 6 is at 160 PSI...
Anyone have any suggestions? Top engine cleaner? Marvel Mystery Oil? The ol' water trick? A sledgehammer...
I'd be curious to try things out, just in case my planned V8 swap doesn't go as smooth, or finish it'self up quick enough...

the water trick works well to remove carbon deposits. Just slowly pour it in untill you hear the engine start to stumble and it cleans things up. Sounds like the engine is just well past its prime, though.

Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
i did a compression check on the engine for him
one cylinder was 125psi (ideal) and the next one was 165psi!
after that we just stopped checking because we knew that he'll need a new engine soon

I don't have a light, so a year ago when I set the timing, I advanced it till it pinged under load, then backed off... I have no idea where the base timing is at, so it's possible that the pinging was under stock conditions... Since then I had my distributor o-ring replaced, so I have no idea where the timing is at, and my fat fingers can't get down to the bolt now...
I get smoke out of the PVC, and I have a new mystery puff of smoke coming from under the engine passengers side when I start it up... Plus no power...
the blow-by is bad enough to push oil out the rear-main when the engine starts up...
Might as well try the water trick to ditch that carbon... can't hurt at this point...
