Heatsink Compound for HEI
Guys,
Does anyone happen to what the GM part number is for the heatsink compound that is used with the HEI ignition modules to keep them from burning up due to heat. IF you dont know the GM part number but do know of another supplier and their part number that too would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

Radio Shack dielectric thermal silicone grease (made for mounting other types of power transistors than just HIEs). I used to keep a couple tubes on hand, but can't seem to find one right now. IIRC, it was about a buck per small tube.
Any local electronics supplier should have it, too.

Vader,
Thanks for the reply. I tell you I wish that they would not call it 'dialectric'. Being an electrical engineer that just screams 'conduction of electricity'. I know that it doesnt but it just does not sound right. Just had to rant about that.
Thanks again.

A local computer shop wil have it also. Just a tip, more is not better, a thin layer will do the trick.
