need help quick please read...

okay here the story....

my 305 tbi camaro has started to backfire recently.. No idea why or what it could be since i am not to good with cars.. This usually only occurs when the car heats up right around 220. The first time it happened i was driving down the freeway and it backfired and turned off of course the car was cruising at 220* with the a/c off. My car hits 220 without a/c.. Well i a few days ago the car started to backfire again when ever the car would shift gears.. It would actually backfire if i kept my foot on the gas if i let off it would kind of relieve it and not kill my car .. If i pushed back on the gas to soon it would kll the car. The car was cruising around 220..

Which would tell me to this is the reason so i bought a 14" pusher to go with my 16" puller fan to keep the car cool.. well as i am driving to work Friday (temp only at 190) car pops and turns off... any ideas?

sorry so long but i need help quick i have no car...

Shawn

you may want to look into buying a low temp thermostat that would help with the cumbustion, and you are probubly right about you distributor. it could have come loose and your timing could be off.

You will find that the distributor is very common to cause those symptoms.....

happened to me, turned out actually to be a bad ESC though. I ended up replacing the entire distributor and the car ran great after that.

before you go buying new parts, check your timing and do a tune up if you haven't in a while

changed spark plugs recently.. BUT after the first backfire hoping to fix the problem... will check timing with the work i plan on doing!

so this sounds like a problem due to timing.. i believe it is completely due to the timing and VSS for some reason...
