Fuel pressure at high altitude

87 GTA 350. I live at 4500ft and I got an ajustable fuel pressure regulator. The engine seemed to run best at about 36psi.
Does this seem right. Anybody else at high elavation.

I a '90 (Speed Density) 5.7L and run 47 lbs with no problems. That is actually the recommended PSI for these autos in stock trim.

Car: 87 Buick GN
Engine: 3.8L (231 cid) V6
Transmission: 200-4R
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt G80/ 3.42
I used to live in Alamogordo NM (4200 ft) and mine ran best at 43 psi. I remember reading somewhere that at high altitudes you won't need as much timing and fuel pressure. You'll just really have to experiment and give the engine what it wants.
