Value of bridging the front and rear cooling passages?

The way the manifold I got to put on my car is cast, it'd be REAL easy to put bosses in the rear cooling passages. I've seen numerous higher end race cars that have lines run from the rear passages to the front. I assume the advantage of this is more balanced cooling between the cylinders, but does it really make a difference? My car is boosted so I worry about such things
