Gm Fast Burn 385 Motor/emissions Question
I'm lookin into gettin one of the GM CRATE Motor Fast Burn 385. I was wondering if this engine would pass the sniffer at the local smog station. I live in California by the way. The car it's goin in is a 1991 Z28 1LE 5.7 Auto. My car came with dual cats so it should be alot easier to smog i would think. I do know that the heads don't have provision for EGR. I used to have a 1985 corvette and the egr wasn't workin on it either but it still passed smog pretty easily as long as the computer doesn't trip any code 32. I was thinkin i would have a prom burned to take out the egr diagnostic that way the computer doesn't trip the code. What do you guys think? Later.

I'd have all the egr equipment on but it just wouldn't be working. When i went to all the smog stations before i never had them check the egr like you said. Like i said my egr wasn't working on my corvette and i still passed smog in cali. I don't know what it's like now but i'm going to smog my camaro and see if it will pass without the egr working. All i know as the as the computer doesn't trip it will be okay but i don't know now days they maybe more stricter. Later.
