My engine is going to overheat

In 10 minutes my temp of my engine is reaching the red limit, i think 260. I added coolant, no help. It's been doing this for 3 days now. I was driving around last night around 2 in the morning, haven't driven my car all day, then it goes up ****ing quick, and it's cold outside. I don't konw why it's doing this, does anyone know?

You can add a 30/70 mix of coolant and water, that is more water than coolant, after you find the problem as an extra measure of protection.

Like said above, also make sure your fan is coming on. Be sure your gauge is reading accurately.

Just run the hot side of the fan to the battery positive and the negative to a toggle switch-then the other post on the toggle to a ground. Just make sure you get fan leads right otherwise you'll push instead of pull!

Or just wire to the fan relay and let it do the work. Grounding the dark green wire should operate the fan.

It might just be easier to repair the problem and let it work automatically. The fan is powered through a fusible link. The relay switches power to the fan. The temperature sensor operates the relay. It shold be pretty easy to split the system and isolate the problem.
