High Idle...
A week or so ago, on my '88 Camaro SC (2.8L V6 MPFI), I pulled off the MAF sensor and intake snorkel so that I could get to the throttle and clean it out (thought it might smooth out the idle a little bit). When I put everything back on, I forgot to hook up the MAF sensor and started the car with it disconnected. I hooked it back up and thought I was done with it. Then, the next day, I'm driving it around when I come to a stop light and find it a little difficult to stop. I look at my tach, and it's idling at ~1250 RPM (with an automatic transmission, that'd explain why it was difficult to stop). I've been noticing this sort of thing more lately (didn't do this at all before pulled everything off); sometimes, if I need to go like 30 MPH, I can just let my foot off of the gas and it will be almost like cruise control, the idle is so high. Another thing I notice, though, is that if I am stopped at a light and it's idling this high, it will gradually start to lower itself after a few seconds. My guess is that's the computer trying to play with the IAC valve to "fix" things.
I will say that I have checked my car for codes; I did get a code 34 (low MAF sensor voltage), but I imagine that was due to the fact that I started the car with the MAF sensor disconnected... must have stored the code and left it there even after I hooked the MAF sensor back up. I've since disconnected the power from my car for 30 min to reset the ECM. I've not been given a code 34 (or anything else, for that matter) since. The behavior of the idle, however, has been the same.
Any ideas? Any help is appreciated!

Just my thoughts.....
It could be running in a default mode since you killed the power for a while.
Old guys correct me here: Does't the computer have to "Re-learn" your driving style after the ECM has been re-set?
Give it a few days of driving, see if it goes back to your "normal".

I think I would check the throttle linkage..you may have a kinked or freyed cable. Or sticky something.....
