Okay, I have cooled down, and I would just like to know who did it and why... Maybe it pissed me off a little more than usual because it was faceless. At least tell me who it was that has ruined my already horrible day-

Chill out guy. The reason your post was locked is because it was non tech, and obviously you know that. The "kid threw a rock at my car" post was seeking advice, which is why it was left open. You were telling a story and did not need replies. Big deal.
By the way, swearing at a moderator is a great way to be put on probation or banned. Seems like only high school kids get in trouble here, eh?

Sorry to here about your car. How bad is it? Fixable or is it totaled. I can see now why I am required to have a double trottle spring.

i had the throttle stick a few times at the Wide Open Throttle (WOT) position in my old beater car.
first couple times cause of the problem was that the bolt near the accelerator pedal on the drivers underdash panel was missing. plastic panel would bend out of shape once in a while and catch on the accelerator pedal.
Moral of the story, inspect the underdash panel periodically to make sure that no retainers have fallen out. Also, if you're not going to put all the bolts & nuts back in the drivers underdash panel after you do underdash service, leave the panel off entirely.
Other times cause of the problem was something with the carberator itself. Travel range for accelerator cable was approximetly [2/3 WOT] - [Full WOT]. Rolled the car off the side of the road and unhooked the accelerator & cruise cables from quadrajet carberator. Linkages moved smoothly and definetly wasn't the problem. Carb itself would not easily spring back to closed position until the throttle plates were wiggled a bit. Bores around where the throttle shaft went through the aluminum throttle body housing were worn out of shape. Solution was to send the carb to a machine shop to have some new bushings put in, but the car was junked before that ever happened.

i closed it, that's what i'm suspose to do with all non tech threads and you know that so it shouldn't be a suprise. whinning and crying in a thread is about the worse possiable way to resolve any problems you have. try writing the moderators or admins.
