Largest REAR Tire on a Lowered GTA 16" Rim
What is the largest REAR tires I can fit on my lowered 88 GTA with stock 16" GTA rims without making any modifications to the wheel well or anything else? Would 265/45-16's work? My fronts are curently 245/50-16's.

Axle/Gears: 3.73 posi with spacer
Wrong you could put even 275mm wide tires on an 8" rim safely, you might be able to get away with 285 mm wide tires if your crazy! The tires your thinking about might fit?

There also was a greater selection 10 years ago than today. Unless things have changed in the last 12 months that I looked, you pretty well are stuck with with 255/50/16s as the largest available in a GOOD tire.

i have a set of mickey thompson sportsman pros that are 27x11.5x16 that i have on my gta rims and the rear is lower by bout 1.5-2 inches they stick out a bit but i also had to massage the inner wheel well a bit and i have a set of 275r16's for the street on there they are only bout a .5 inches narrower than the pros so u can get a wide tire ont here.. just my input hope this helps
