edelbrock intake w/vortec heads...
im looking at building up the 330hp 350 enginge from gm this summer and i am just wondering if the edelbrock performer intake manifold w/tbi adaptor plate will work with the 64cc vortec heads the engine comes with. they also have a vortec intake but it cost more, edelbrock is believed to have better quality manifolds, and the vortec needs custom work done to get the egr to work.
if the edelbrock intake doesnt fit the vortec heads what modifications will i need to make to the edelbrock in order to get it to work and how much will it cost me approx?
thanx

You WILL need the Vortec intake. I was thinking the Vortec intake was external EGR. Somebody refresh my memory?

vortec is external egr and i dont think edelbrock has a vortec intake might be wrong though.. i want edelbrock so i will most likely stay away from vortec's i am telling you guy's HEADS should be topic of the week....
vortecs are the shizznit from what i ha seen (flow numbers and price) but i dont know how hard it is to plumb the external egr and wihout the external egr if they will pass emmision's... i believe without the egr you would need a custom chip but without one it would still run.. hopefully jprevost will post and fill you in...or maybe this will be in the topic of the week!! hint hint..

Edelbrock make more intakes for the Vortec head than all others combined, anyway I think the engine comes with a good intake already, if not check out Powerhouse they have a polished Vortec intakes for $129.00.

im thinking of sticking vortex heads and intake on my 305 with a 570cfm holley SA carb and then transfering it all to a 350 in a later date but im not sure yet...570cfm would be perfect for the 305 but i think it would chock a good 350...i dont know yet we will see what happens oh yeah also i hear people say they pass emmissions with the air pump and or EGR....must not be to hard i here people say they run alcohol for the test and it passes to
