with and without world 305 torquers
Ok so far my definite major mods for this summer are edelbrock headers, 3 inch cat, edelbrock TBI performer, LT1 cam, maybe some ignition system upgrades(coil, cap, wires) too.
This will be on the stock chip this summer. How much more do you think I would gain from just going ahead and getting a set of torqers for the 305?
I didn't want to do anything to the 305 because I have plans for a 350, but I'm starting to reconsider the 305. I may just take a plunge and keep the 305 for this car and put a more "crazed" 350+ cid motor(carbed) in another car.

I also want that vacuum fuel pressure regulator for this summer to make all of this stuff work better.

Don't know about the heads but I am wondering the same. I know Car Craft got bigger gains with some L31 vortec heads though. You can get a pair of them fully assembled for just over $400. A chip wouldn't hurt to make all of your mods work together better.

I'm looking at S/R toquers too. they come with better springs, 560 lift , screw in studs,58cc chambers,Manley valves, and three angle valve grind job. Around $350 each and you dont have to pay some one to mill them to keep your compression up. Plus I can still use my Edelbrock performer manifold. The cheapest I've seen vortecs lately is $469 for a pair, and then you got to buy a more expensive manifold. Also I plan on keeping my EGR funtional.

I will probably still hold off on the heads until the 305 gets yanked. When that time comes I'll either do the bigger displacment thing, or I'll build the 305 from the pan to the heads for more power.
