LT1 Cam Swap Parts Needed
I am starting this post to be informative about the exact components people need to do a cam swap.
Intake Gaskets
Timing chain Cover Gasket
Timing Chain (is it worth it to replace with a double chain?)
Gasket Sealant
Gasket Silicone for the china walls
Harmonic Balancer Puller
Torque Wrench
Enough oil for 2 changes (But what kind? Synthetic or non?)
Anything else I may be missing? And if anyone happens to have part numbers and prices, that would be cool.
Also, I just thought of something, would I need to discharge my air conditioning? So would I need more R134a?

CCA-4796 Comp Cams Degree Kit -($135)
CLO-9-3145 True double roller timing chain-($80)
KMO-K-700 Springs-($43)
RED-80312 Redline Assembly Lube-($7)
SUM-G6406 Pushrods-($50)
TAV-08620 Crank turning nut-($10)
CCA-99819 Valve stem seals-($18)
All of the other stuff like gaskets (approx $60 worth), etc. I got at Auto Zone(I also used their loan a tool program for the puller, valve spring compressor, and oil primer I needed). I also picked up a set of cam degreeing bushings at my local speed shop for $18 bucks. I wanted to also replace the rockers with aluminum 1.6 roller rockers but ran out of money. This project cost ALOT more than what I had originally thought. I think total I spent approx. $450-$500 bucks on the swap. True I could have gotton out cheaper but while you are that deep in the engine, you might as well replace stuff that has been plugging away for 128,000 mi with high quality stuff.
As far as the oil, use normal oil for the break-in and then switch to synthetic if you want.

Is it neccessary to degree the cam? I am researching cam swaps, cuz I plan on swapping an LT1 cam into my engine in a few weeks (spring break) and I wanna keep it as simple as I can...
