what is the difference in 350 truck TBI's and 305 camaro Tbi's
I was wandering what the big difference is, everytime i want to buy a spacer they want way too much for mine, but when it comes to the trucks they are cheaper. Can i use a TBI unit off of a chevy 350 truck or no. Well thank you for all the help and take it easy.
Thanx

I am not quite sure, I think they are the same. Find a company who makes both spacers and check the part#. Here is a picture of the intake on my Suburban does it look any different bolt pattern wise than yours?

Yup, these are the heads and the intake for the swap. If you contact www.paceparts.com get the # and Call Jim Pace Pontiac they sell a kit with egr and gaskets, bolts everything. Even a custom chip. Call and talk to parts, they sell em all day long.

The TBI unit itself is the same. The injectors in the 350 unit will have a higher flow capacity. They will run too rich unless you have a modified engine that requires more fuel. Any space should work fine. THe bolt pattern is the same.
Hope that's what you were looking for.

How much did all that stuff cost Audi man, and thank you for telling me that it is all the same, but why do the spacers run more for a 305 TBI camaro, than on a truck??

Dan,
I've looked at both TurboCity.com and CFM-Tech.com and they are all the same price. Only differences are for early, late style or thickness. No difference for 350 vs 305. Hope those sights help. I made mine out of 1" aluminum plate and was extremely happy with it. I made my first one from 1/2" and didnt notice any further improvement at 1". Since hood clearance was not an issue, I just left on the 1".

The Lo3 and Lo5 engines both used the same exact intake manifold and TB. The only difference are the injectors and I believe the spring in the 350 TB unit was a little stiffer but it was installed at a different height. At least this is what I've gathered from Tim and Randy when they made Randy's AFPR.
The adaptor plates are all the same. Definatly get a carb intake (cheaper) and slap on an adaptor plate. If you get a spread bore intake manifold then you can make your own adpator real easy. Can be made from 1/4" material and no need to make adjustements even when used with the larger 2" bore TB units (454 trucks and holley 670cfm). The problem with using a homemade adaptor plate on a square bore with a 2" TB is that the throttle blades are too wide. They'll hit the side of the intake and you need to either grind down the sides of the intake a little (like z28 boy did) or use the Holley 1" adaptor that sells for $40. It's a really nice piece but the 1" does damage on the f-body hood clearance. I'm running a drop air cleaner but with no adaptor plate. My RPM manifold and adaptor plate raised the TB unit so high that even without the spacer, the drop base air cleaner doesn't touch the top of the coil! Even if it did I'd just mount the coil to the firewall (DUH!, how's that for a quick fix).
I hope you figured out what you needed to know because your questions weren't really specific enough. I don't know what intake or TB you're planning on using on what engine Etc.
Again, as for the TB units themselves, nothing physically different, they bolt in like a carb but with only 3 bolts
