Holley 670 CFM TBI

Im sure this has been asked before but sorry, Im new

Has anyone used this? what kinda problems, if any did it cause them? Im guessing you would want a better flowing intake to pair up with it, but I'm curious about gas mileage, performance, and computer problems that people have had with such a big unit.

No problems unless you use stock eprom and mismatch the unit with a screwy engine system. Example: Works great on my car even with stock eprom because my intake, engine, and everything else has grown with the TB unit (including need for larger injectors). If you install the unit on a stock intake you'll have problems. The stock intake is only 1 11/16" so it's just stupid to put the 2" unit on top of it. Also the 2" unit isn't needed until you're making over 300hp at the crank, trust us, it's been argued and proven by many of members and dyno sheets. So unless you have a 300+hp motor don't waste the money, the stock unit will flow plenty and probably give you better throttle responce with stock injectors (adjusted fuel pressure!!!!) than the 2" unit on a mild engine.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't planning on just replacing the TBI unit, that would be retarded!

i wouldnt go with the holley unless you have to...turbocity wants 129$ a piece for the injectors...for 100 more dollars you could go with the holley TBI which i think would be worth it since it comes with all the sensors, flows alot better ect. just do the ultimate TBI mods to yours and youll notice a big difference...im planning on (hopefully) getting a zz4 crate motor this summer and i might put the holley TBI on there im still not sure i just dont wanna mess with carburators...

Hey Jon,

I'm gonna be putting a 310HP 350 in my car soon. I don't mind using the stock TBI for now, and I'm gonna go with the Holley TBI intake in case I want to upgrade the engine and TBI later.

If I decide to use the TBI, should I step up to the plate and buy larger injectors? The motor I'm building is gonna be about 380 lb/ft. torque at only 3500, but I want to make sure that I have enough fuel to make that much torque.

Since the TBI for the 305 and 350 are the same except for the injectors, could I snag some injectors off of a truck with a 350 at the junk yard? That should be better than the stock 305 injectors, right? I just don't want to run those 305 injectors past the 80% duty cycle.

junk yard injectors are ok, but i woudl suggest getting as many of them as you can find and having them cleaned and checked first(try to find at least 2 sets). a lot of these motors end up in junk yards because the injectors died and people rarely replace them for some reason.
i go tabout 280 hp at the crank out of the stock unit with a stock cam with only 350injectors installed. i am sure it is capable of a lot more if anyoen was to try. i never even got a chip for it, that woudl prolly have been at least another 20hp.

Definatly need big injectors for anything more than 300hp. I'm running the stock holley units with cranked up fuel pressure.
The 350 injectors with cranked up fuel pressure should handle the 310hp but remember you'll almost definatly want a custom eprom or you'll have a tuff time getting it to run "good"

AJ_92RS:
My motor is very similar to yours.About 310 HP and 400 ft/lbs (at the crank).I'm using the Turbo City Throttle Body and Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator,Edelbrock Performer TBI Intake,350 Truck Injectors,SLP Headers,3" Cat,3" Flowmaster Cat-Back and a custom chip from Ed Wright.
I've been real happy with this setup. It pulls hard up to 5500 RPM,Idles like stock, gets almost 15mpg average (city/highway) and puts the car sideways in first gear at anything less than 40mph.
Oh, and if I replace the open element air cleaner with the stock unit, it passes smog in California.
