unknown wire dangling
ok on my passenger side near the rear of the engine (more to the back than the front) there is a wire that is just hanging...i noticed it while changing plugs but i didnt see anywhere for it to go...its pretty much just a clip on with a single needle like metal piece coming out which should connect into something...im not throwing any codes what is it!?!

These things have wires hanging like that sometimes. If it's not obvoius where it's supposed to go, it's probably not anything to worry about.

are u sure thats not your fan switch sensor wire. I knocked mine out when i put in new plugs a few weeks ago. Look in the passenger side cylinder head between cylinders 6 and 8. There should be a wire connected to a thin metal piece that is sticking out of the head. If not, then reconnect it. You dont want to drive with that disconnected, your fan will not come on. I did my headers this past summer and accidentally knocked it out and didnt notice until my car overheated and a nipple on my heater control valve melted off, senting coolant everywhere. Good times . But yeah, u better check that.

Probably the fan switch wire.Does your fan work?
If it does my next guess would be knock sensor. Both get real hot, being so close to stock exhaust manifolds. When my fan stopped working, it was the fan switch connector that had disintigrated from the heat. Literally crumbled.
(215,000 miles)All that was left was the sharp pin on the end of the wire.I tie-wrapped it on until I replaced the motor, later in the year.

i used a wire connector for mine. It was a plastic piece that was about an eighth an inch in diameter which was lined on the inside by metal ( it is a standard piece, i just dont know the name of it). I stuck the wire in on one side and clamped it down with plier, got under the car, slid the other end over the fan sensor and clamped that part down.

Same thing as some of the others, check to make sure that it is not the temp sensor that kicks on your fan. It is usually located between the 6th and 8th cyl's. Make sure you fan works, cuz that could be really bad if it doesnt

When I installed the headers on my RS, I found a wire dangling near the firewall on the driver's side of the car, and I was really bothered by it. I couldn't remember where I took it out of or anything, so I just didn't plug it in. Car runs the same...someone mentioned to me that things like that happen, and it could be there for other models of the Camaro or something.
