2.8 tpi to 305 tbi fine tune issues
I'm trying to get the motor swap finished so i can drive the car and have some fun so please help. I have a 1988 firebired that had a tune port 2.8 in it and i also have a 1988 camaro 305 tbi that the body was junk because it sat in a field for years. So i startred the swap my freshman year of highschool, took the 2.8 tune poert out along with the transmission and wiring harness from where it plugged in to the firewall on the drivers side all the way to the computer inside the car on the passemger side. put in the 88 camaro tbi motor and tranny in, used the camaro harness, wired it through the pass. fender well back into the car, hooked up the firebird computer with the camaro chip, put in a new sending unit for a camaro along with tbi fuel pump, new starter, fuel pressure regulator, injectors, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and idle air control valve. Also, the firebird, which now has the camaro 305 had no security chip in the key but the camaro had the chip in the key. Heres the issue... When i first try to start the car it will crank but not fire, the injectors will not fire. However, when i dump gas down the throttle body it will fire right up and stay running at 1100 rpm, but if i hold rpm at a certain amount say 2000rpm it will be very choppy and as soon as i let off the throttle it will go back to about 1100 rpm but doesnt sound to choppy. If i shut the car off and turn it back on it will fire but i think its because there is still fuel in the system. the injectors dont fire until it runs. And yea the fuel pump kicks on when i first turn the key. Please please help me. Its been a three year process and im running out of answers. Please

Do you still have the Camaro pcm? Have you tired using it? Are you sure the Camaro was an 88? I haven't encountered an 88 with VATS in it. Did it have shoulder belts and the back seat?
