TBI external reguator???

I'm wanting to replace the stock regulator with a external high performance one. Anyone have info on doing this? Not sure how to handle the plumbing the TBI unit.

Get the original one set up for the fuel pressure you want. Done. Costs almost nothing except your time--maybe a hardware-store spring for < $5. I took my original spring, stretched it a bit, and lucked-into the fuel pressure I wanted. Re-used all the gaskets and regulator diaphragm.

Even if I had to pull it apart again--twice--to end up with the pressure I wanted, it still wouldn't be half the hassle of plumbing-in an external regulator.

I'm used an aero motive unit (120$) and made a block off plate out of sheet aluminum and a gasket ... Then I had 4 braided stainless lines made at a local shop (165$) .... I had two short lines made about 10-12" long one feed line and one return line ... Then two 3' lines from TBI to the regulator here's a pic ... I'll get u a close up tomorrow .... Disregard that last pic it was accidental post

I already have the adjustable stock reg. When I get above 3k the fuel pressure fluctuates and it seems like the regulator can't hold a consistent pressure. I have a E2000 fuel pump with 3/8" line, so it's not restricted. And I know plenty of people using the E2000 with a Tbi. I have aggressive cam so I think the stock reg is having a hard time keeping up.

The routing is simple with this regulator ... Return line goes in the bottom of the regulator and the rest go in the horizontal or side holes then just plug the extra one

Thanks for the post. I will look at the pictures tomorrow when I'm not on my phone. I'm interested in seeing that block off plt.
