350 tbi swap, alittle help.
So im doing a 350 tbi swap out of a 1990 gmc 1500 truck, my 305 tbi is gotta go lol, i think the l05's are rated at 210 hp, and 300 torque, (correct me if im wrong), i am wanting to gain some hp, in a cheap budget ive did some research, and ive seen that the lt1 cam is quite popular. an its cheap. Now the truck has 200K miles on it, so i kno ill need to replace the valve springs, timing chain, i can keep the stock heads correct?, im not a master mechanic so please bare with me... would i need to replace any thing else to be on the safe side?, its a strong running motor, ive heard that i should replace the heads bolts because there known to stretch and one more thing. where is the best place to find a lt1 cam?. any help would be appreciated. thank you for your time.

best place to find an lt1 cam would be either ebay or the classifieds on this site. or some lt1's forum.
If your doing all the work. I'd look to upgrade the cylinder heads. or at least modify the stock ones some to get more power out of them. seem's like kind of waste to put all the time into it and still be restricted by the stock heads.

do get them done properly it would probably be a few hundred dollars more to get an aluminum head and upgrade dramatically...just sayin.
but to have stock heads reworked varies on location. so you would have to check with your local machinist

i really can't afford to get the heads redone, i was planning on buying valve springs, and a timing chain set, and the lt1 cam. along with all the gaskets of course. is getting the heads done mandatory? or could i bipass that for now?. another question what hp increase will i see?
