Vortec head gasket questions
I have a 305 tbi, I have to deal with it for another four months, I'm buying a brand new 350 (300hp) with 3 yr warranty. I can get a set of vortec 350 heads for $40 here at the junk yard. I wanna use these on my 305 with my new intake, just a small power boost til I can do my swap. What gasket could I use on a set of untouched 350 vortecs, so I can keep my compression (9.3:1) without a mill job, bc I plan to re use these on my future motor. Thanks guys.

Re: Vortec head gasket questions
While the Vortec 350 head is good, it's chamber is too large for a 305. You'll more than likely loose power from the drop in compression. Buy the heads and save them for the 350.

Re: Vortec head gasket questions
Well my car smokes do to valve seals, on crank up and take off. I was not going to try to replace the seals, maybe I'll just buy a set of regular heads as well, just to get me by.
