My 5.7L TPI dies when I give it gas.
I am new here so I don't know how to post. I hope someone finds this and can help. I am having a problem with my 91 Camaro with the 5.7L T.P.I. 25 anniversary. The car ran fine yesterday. Now it starts first start runs with no issues. I touch the gas pedal and the motor chokes and dies but I can start it again with no problem over and over. Every time I touch the gas it dies. I tried to search these threads and I find some info but nothing straight forward. All what is might be but nothing on what it is and all for different motors. I have the fuel pump done brand new and a lot of other stuff. The car has been sitting for a few months but I take it out and start it and let the motor run from time to time. My mechanic said it might me a mass air flow sensor or something. So I asked auto zone for the part and they said the car does not even use a mass air flow sensor. Believe me I know the car gets gas fine. It only dies when the gas pedal is touched. Please help anyone know how can I fix this?
