Injectors worked when I parked it...

I'm fixing my 91 RS after 7 years in the garage. I thought I had all the electrical issues worked out, but alas it seems that my injectors are not flowing, though the voltmeter says they've got power and ground. I'm trying to avoid spending $300 to fix this, with injectors being as expensive as they are. Anyone have any ideas on fixing these things, or is it a lost cause?

Fortunately, when it was parked, the car ran, right out of gas, in fact, trying to keep the motor from cold welding. Was parked for the rear end I blew up. I have plenty of fuel pressure, as I discovered when I realized I had not tightened the return fuel line when I opened it up to check the condition of the pipes, then subsequently when I saw that I needed to rebuild the throttle body due to leaky o-rings. I'll have to go tap on them when I get back over to my baby in the morning.

Thanks, I'll be sure to post back with (hopefully good) results tomorrow.

Re: Injectors worked when I parked it...

Well, after numerous "taps" from every which angle, I seem to be out of luck there. They're just too frozen. I took them out and checked the screens for noticeable built up crap, but could see none, even under the 50X microscope I stole from the kid, so it may just be that they are that old and froze up at the magnet or the pin. There is also definitely fuel getting into the rail, as it was totally full when I pulled the TB apart. Going to the pull your own tomorrow in hopes of finding a favorable axle code on the back of a totaled car, hopefully there'll be one with a TBI I can snag some injectors from too. Wouldn't be so bad if I luck out like that at $12 a piece instead of $100+. Hope this helps, luvmy64, I'll update when I've got a chance. Most of the free time goes to the car, but I'll keep up on this too.

BTW, what 64 is that?

Its actually a 64 Chevy pickup that I dont even have anymore.....
I found my problem......bought a noid light, one of my injectors wasnt getting any pulse at all, found a blown fuse going to said injector, flailed injectors with Crescent wrench, fired right up. It was a lucky break, cause i was about to start throwing money at it......

If all else fails and you do need to get new ones, its worth sending them in to http://www.witchhunter.com instead, they basically rebuild injectors and clean the snot out of them for 19 bucks per injector. instead of getting new ones for 100 dollars per injector

Re: Injectors worked when I parked it...

While I was at the pull your own yesterday, I grabbed a handful of injectors in hopes that some of them will work. If not, I'll send the nicest two off. Also bought a noid light on Amazon for $30 , should be in tomorrow. As always, I'll keep updating.
