TBI throttle body gasket differences

When you buy gaskets that include the throttle body gasket, they put two different types in the kit.

Which one is correct?

I last used the one without the space between the barrels and the car seems to run better when cold and warming up.

I unfortunately have to redo and swap my engine, plus interchange some pistons this weekend and I'm just wondering which one to use for my stock setup?

Does the one with the space in between barrels have to be used with a metal spacer?

These are actually identical bolt patterns, just the pics are different sizes.
