Hey guys, i kinda have decided what i want to do when my 305 decides to take a dump . Basically a budget 350 swap using a vortec 350 out of a +96 tahoe etc, can get those pretty cheap at junkyards anyways, im planning on only maybe replacing the stock vortec cam with an lt1 cam or similar and thats it, appart from the usual bolt ons like headers , underdrive pulleys etc that are already in the car anyways, my worry is will a stock tuned ecm run this motor with an lt1 cam, im gonna use an ECM out of a tbi caprice cop car , ofc with proper knock sensor , spark module, and injectors, or my other choice wich will probably be the best is one of those flash EBLs everyone keeps talking about. I saw a thread were someone did this swap and he managed to run the motor with a stock 350 tbi ecm.

 

how about this....you do the vortech conversion, great idea, and get a complete conversion kit. Here's the one we make, all parts are 100% made in USA:



I'll throw in a 7747 ECU and a tune. I happen to have one on the shelf with a chip.

The only thing you'll have to find is a harness. Which is plentiful and cheap.

I don't know your definition of budget, but this entire conversion can be done $1500 complete. This kit shows an internal pump, I'll swap out for an external pump if you want. If you do a bigger cam, I'll do a custom tune for $1700 complete. All you have to do with either, is bolt it up. Comes with everything. If you're doing all this, do a bigger cam, it will be far more fun.

 

It was pointed out to me the picture is not for a vortec. Yes that is true. We have 2 kits one for standard. SBC and one for vortec. The pic is an example only. Same kit with vortex parts.
