Re: EGR valve

There is no filter used for the EGR.

Cat converter, air sistem, EGR and cranck case breather, makes 4.

Re: EGR valve

If you look into the EGR and see a buildup of carbon you need to change it. Other than that you should be OK.

Re: EGR valve

I took the sucker off.. it wouldent push up...I sprayed the hell outta it with carb/TB cleaner..its loosend it up and I can push it smoothly now feeling the suction..I put it back on but I cant see it sucking up...what im asking is when u pull of that vacuum line that runs to it and place ur finger over it... should u feel it sucking air??

I dont have a vacuum tester...

Re: EGR valve

The Vacuum line you should feel sucking. The EGR you won't feel it because the diaphragm is too small to create enough vacuum, a vacuum might detect it.

EGR is commanded by the ECM and activated by the solenoid, mainly during cruising wen in highway mode, light trottle and idle, as soon as you accelerate a little harder it's bypassed.

Also note there is a minimum thempereture, probably around 55° that is set in the calibration (chip) required to enable egr operation.
