Hello there, like many of u with TBIs u are in search of performance, i think that i have come to the conclution on my built plans, what i originally wanted to do , is just take every electronic out and carb the damn thing but it got me thinking about milage and realibility, its my DD its not a damn race car either but i do want a 350 in it. What im planning to do is get a junkyard engine from a 96+ vortec equiped truck , take it apart and rebuilt if necessary , slap an lt1 camshaft on it, get a carb intake with adapter, find the 350 parts like knock sencor , spark module and 2 injectors , switch to a tpi fuel pump and finally get the EBL ecm to do whatever little tuning is needed to get her to run smooth.

What do u guys think of this combo ? Is it a good idea or a waste of time, i want to keep her TBI to keep her as factory looking as possible.

Im sure a TBI 350 with vortec heads and a better cam like the lt1 and properly tuned will atleast give me some 250+ whp that is enough to get this car to haul *** , it kinda moves pretty good right now with the old 305 in it.

 

Sounds like a great idea if you can find a good 350. I would get your exhaust ready first.

 

I am, i already got a fully mandrel 2.5in tube from the y-pipe back, i deleted the cat no smog test in florida, and a Thrush Welded Muffler 2.5 in 2.5 out, im gonna prolly get the hedman header and ypipe kit i heard they are good.
