TBI rebuild stock
Hi everyone!
I recently started my first ever car project, a 1991 firebird formula (as my name on forum). It was given to me for free a little while ago, and I have been working on it steadily for a little while, but I have not gotten very far yet. The TBI throttle lever was frozen and the unit was covered in gunk from several years of sitting. I cleaned it out and took it apart, but when I unstuck the lever, three of the four screws holding the throttle plates on broke at the heads. I drilled them out, retapped the holes slightly larger, and put in new screws, but I know that the old ones had some sort of thread locking compound or soldering on them; I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of compound or technique I should use to lock these screws in place so they don't come out during operation? Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much,
A new thirdgen enthusiast =)

Re: TBI rebuild stock
IIRC, the stock screws are brass and were peen'd over on the ends. This prevent them from ever backing out. When replaced I use the red LockTite #271 on them.
Note that all of the screws used in the throttle body that is inside of the air cleaner area get blue removable Locktite. These are mostly the pod screws along with the pod mounting screws.
