TBI-Carb.

I have a 89 RS 350 TBI and I want to go Carb.

What's the safest route to go?

The reason I ask is because i'm scared to mess with the fuel injection.

Re: TBI-Carb.

auto trans (700r4) will require you wire up a lockup switch

if you dont want to drop the tank, you'll need to run a return style fuel pressure regulator to knock the fuel pressure down to carb-friendly levels. also will need to wire the fuel pump to come on with ignition.

you'll need to swap to an hei non-Computer Controlled distributor and wire that up to power and the tach.

basic start there

Re: TBI-Carb.

Fuel injection is actually VERY easy to work with. It's not as scary as the carb guys make it out to be.
What all are you concerned about when it comes to TBI? We can definately help you.To me
Going carb is a big step BACKWARDS. Nothing beats FI in terms of drivability and reliability.

Interesting. First step is to read and post in the carb forum.

Re: TBI-Carb.

I agree that going to a carb is a step backwards. What is it about fuel injection that you're having problems with, or that you foresee having problems with?

Re: TBI-Carb.

well pulling the engine is what i fear, because if i decide to keep the throttle body i'm still going to pull it and sent off to be mahcined and cleaned etc.

what do I need to look for when pulling the motor? what wires do i need to be especially careful with?
