set timing for a 350 on the harmonic balancer
hi i just did the famous swap from a 305 tbi to a 350 tbi i have all the right sensors and a new chip from tbichips. my question is the timing to start it up. i did the top dead center on 1 and the coil to point to one. tbc was on 0 on the timing tab and it started up fine once warmed up it got rough and when i re started it pop thre tbi and even fire. i had it runing for a while checked the timing and i could it even get it in the timing tab area. does any one know what the timing should be? its a 350 tbi crate engine from good wrench. schould i leave it a tdc and at the 0 on the harmonic balancer?

You need to check it with a timing light and esc connector disconnected to see exactly what your base timing is set at.A digital timing light is better.

This is the balancer that came with the engine? You've got the EST connector unplugged to set the timing?
