converting from carb to TBI: can i?
this has been rattling around in my head for quite a while, and i cant shake the idea.
ive got an older hot rod that is carbd. single 850 dbl pumper. car is dynod at 426 and some change HP at the wheels. the whole power curve is under 7000RPM.
in all honesty, the car drives like crap. mostly due to the carb. no choke, poor throttle response, rich idle no matter what, etc.
im learning a lot about the TBI setups with my s10, and i like them. they will also clear my hood and use my stock air cleaner. i would have to make an adapter to mate it to my single plane, though. i think i would also have to run the 454 TBI to get anywhere near what i need as far as CFM and fuel delivery.
so, my question is, will a modified factory TBI system run this thing?

if the cam makes good vacuum you shouldn't have many problems.

sorry. shouldn't. my buddy had a very radical 350 he wanted to put in late 80s K5 blazer and he wanted to keep the TBI. when we started talking about all the problems he might run into with that big cam and the ECM he scrapped that idea.(i fixed it)
