Re: Bogging and rough idle

First of all what's the fuel induction system? TBI?

If it's TBI check the IAC, you'll probably have to take the unit apart to check it.

Check the EGR valve also, make sure it's not stuck open.

Yes, so it shouldn't be sticking.

Re: Bogging and rough idle

imma going to have to bumb this back up because i am having the same problem, had a little race with my buddy and that just crippled the car, ideling horribly 9/10
and whe i try to use any gas in any gear it just sputters out and dies, fuel pressure is fine the only diff. is im tpi so i dont know if that changes anything, and 1/10 times it does start up fun, like nothings wrong with it Usually after i mess around with wires and make sure everything is secure witch it is, it idels fine pop it into gear and get it going till about second gear, than it goes right back at it and starts sputtering and dieing, any fresh thoughts on this

Re: Bogging and rough idle

Not realy anything could be a maf. I know if there bad the idle will be crappy when it's cold, but my car has the same problem too, hah except myne is crossfire injection and it doesn't ever stall but it's really hesitant when I rev it and it kinda sounds like it has a cam when it idles, well it don't have a cam.... And when I drive it it kinda bumps as I go. Also another point is my gas is pretty low, now maybe it's just that I'm sucking up dirt and rust and bad gas from the bottom of the tank, it did start doing it when the needle was in the red

Re: Bogging and rough idle

idk, i would say check your fuel filter and see if it looks bad from that, i got my car running again and it was after i took the whol top off of my tpi (not literally top of manifold and distributer cap) and had the battery unplugged the entire time, im guessing i reset the brain and what not and now its back to trying to run, now i have at least 3 cylynders not working and still really bad ideling and not going very far in gear, (will go, just cant rev to hi at all) hope that helps anyone and hope anyone can help me
