I need cam help!
Im 100% sure on the S/R torquer heads, but unsure of a decent cam. I know i don't want the LT1.
Basically im looking for a cam that will give me a nice idle, is tunable, has good street manners that won't require any head work to have installed. The LT1 is too tame in my opinion so what is bigger then the LT1 that will still work well with the S/R Torquer heads im getting? thanks

I'm sure there are members here that can give you solid recommendations. I always advise people to call the pro's at Comp Cams.

Check this one out. Very nice cam. This is what i am going to install in my setup soon. Is very tunable! I don't know much about the heads you are getting so give Comp Cams a call. They are great.

What about this cam?
63-08-502-8 Comp Cams "Extreme" Hydraulic Roller Camshaft, 218 / 224, .495 / .502 112 LSA, High performance application, largest with stock converter, noticeable idle

easy tune and noticeable idle don't go well in the same sentence, lol. It's a nice cam, but you may have some issues tuning that cam. Do you tune on your own?

Re: I need cam help!
That Comp 304 cam is not the best choice for a non-supercharged application, and even with S/C, there are better choices.
The Comp 502 would be better.
The Comp 304 has the older style slower ramps. The 502 has the quicker XE lobes, so it won't have as much overlap as the the .050 dur numbers might lead you to believe. A Comp 501 (212/218/112) would also be a good choice. Either of these is a sizable step up in performance from an LT1 cam.

Re: I need cam help!
304 is far better than stock and much better than any LT1 cam. It all depends on how much power you are wanting to gain.
I agree that the 502 will yield far more power, but not as easy to tune.
Best bet is to call Comp Cams. They are excellent at helping you get the PERFECT match for you application.

I disagree with the recommendation to talk to the "techs" at Comp Cams. He'll get better information on this board.

Re: I need cam help!
I do want to keep this a Daily driver and no I don't have the know how or equipment to tune my own car. Pretty much im going to pray that i can get a mail order tune that works well enough for the heads/intake/cam to be bolted up and run. I know id need further tunning to get it right but the big thing is to have a car that runs.
So the 502 or 501 cam would be good and not considered over kill right? I wanted the LT4 hotcam but alot of people said that would be TOO much cam. As long as either of these two cams can work well and not leave me needing to mill the heads or what ever then im happy!

Re: I need cam help!
My personal opinion states that the bigger cam will be too much for a daily driver. I could be wrong.
Give Brian a call from tbichips.com. He is excellent at tuning and recommending. Tell him Sean from Illinois sent you. He'll treat you right.

Re: I need cam help!
Thanks for all your input on this sean and everyone else to! It doesn't need to stop hear lol, the more the better.
Like if anyone had a sound clip of a cam close to the 501 and 502 or any personal experiance with cams like these would be great.
Ill give the tuners sean mentioned a try, i think ive heard of them before so hopefully they can hook my car up.

Re: I need cam help!
so this is the comp cam 501 cam
Comp Cams "Extreme" Hydraulic Roller Camshaft, 212 / 218, .488 / .495 112 LSA, Mild performance applications, very good mid-range, 3.23-3.73 gears
my question is, when it says "mild performance" does it mean mild for a 350? If so that would mean it would be a little more seirous for the 305 right?
