Please keep on topic. I know its illegal. I know it helps emmisions. I know there is no gain. Yes I searched... Hard to find a specific answer when you have to search through every thread that mentions A.I.R.

#1 , belt size is mentioned in tech article on removing smog pump . looked at my belt , got 6pk2460 968k6 #s from it . #2 , 1/4" NPT , i used internal wrenching/allen wrench plugs on mine . #3 , yes , re-install mounting bolts , 1 or 2 go into block to mount bracket . #4 , yes . good luck .

Yeah I seen belt size in the article, still figured Id ask because many report that it has too much vibration, wanted to hear from someone who had it working well. So thank you for checking and giving the p/n.

Sorry to sound a bit uneducated here, but I dont no what you mean about the plugs. Dummy terms? Where to buy?

plugs are 1/4" National Pipe Thread . available most any hardware store . bigger selection at home depot or lowes . the only dumb/stupid question is the one that is not asked . good luck .

Have fun trying to get those lines out from behind the block. After you get that out of there, you can re-route the heater valve.



All I did was take the hoses off the valve, run them under the AC lines around the drier. Cleans everything up a TON.

As for the line behind the block, Ive read that people just cut it and just leave it there.

I left mine in until just recently when I started my engine swap. That's when that second pic was taken, but it was cleaned up about that much anyway.

I can see whats missing and I still can tell that it looks much much better. BUt I ahve to ask, did you use the same hoses? Any tips? Looks great and I really want to do it. Thanks!

I used the hoses that were already there. All I had to do was take them off the valve, re-route them, and put them back on. You do have to take them loose on both ends to get the hose to rotate the correct way since they are preformed. While I have the coolant drained, I might go through and make a write-up about it this weekend. If you want to just figure it out, go ahead. Otherwise if I remember I'll try and get something written up with pictures.

"loose on both ends" That is what I was wondering. I was looking under the hood today, and realized the shape of the hoses. And of course I thought they would kink if I moved them the way they were. So that cleared it up.

Ok new question. The only size that is close that all my local part stores have is 967K6. Thats only .1" smaller, but I figured Id ask before I get it, so is it ok to get or no?

Yes I am sure your tensioner can make up for .1 of an inch.

i got some headers and took off the air and then i just rerouted my heater hoses i cut the on that gos to the heater valve (PLASTIC ) turned it around and plugged it straight into the hearter core and plugged the lower hose looks alot cleaner

Why not keep your stock size belt and use the AIR pump delete pulley?

Very nice! But Id like to keep everything functional, as everything in my car still works... for now...

Belt is cheaper. And its probably about time to replace it anyway.

thats what i want my heater still works the only thing is i dont have the ugly plastic peice there that plastic valve is to divert the coolant from running in the heater core when not in use but like many other cars out there thats fine if it does so my heater works no check engine light on and i still pass emmisions so everything still works on my car
