Impossible! That's what I've been hearing ever since I got my Crossfire a few years ago.
Crossfire heads and manifold get a lot of bad press, but the fact is that the tiny 4 banger TBs at 46mm and 525CFM (for the pair!) . . are the biggest restriction.
Here's how to get rid of it. This is not theory, BTW, these are ON the car and working pefectly with the stock ECM and the car no longer runs out of steam over 3,000 RPM!
Here is third prototype pair:
Secret sauce . . new custom throttle plates:
Mounted up:
Do the Dew:
That's a live shot. These guys score a total deviation of 1/4" . . I really didn't think that was possible. Performance is outstanding. When I get more time, I'll show you how I made these guys.

That's purdy.
I could do the harware and even a progressive linkage . . . Hmmmm
Wonder if EBL can run three injectors?
Or SIX . . hey if we're going insane, may as well go all the way, right ?
I once had a 6x2 manifold for a 348 chevy motor (predesessor to the 409). Had no carbs on it, just 6 big holes staring at you. It was one of those kinds of things that you don't dare use, you just 'HAVE' if for a few years and then trade it for something (in my case, front runing light bezels for one of my '58 Impalas.)

Here are the second set of prototypes going on the test car.
Here is the stock Crossfire manifold coming off:
And the new Ported Crossfire manifold going back on:
I shipped out the TBs already mounted on the lid and pre-balanced, but the pods had to be mounted up:
Here is the completed install, ready for the road test:

Yep, I knew EBL can run multiple injectors, I remeber reading is could drive 4 injectors, but I don't recall that is can run THREE specifically, and particularly if they could be progressive. That would be fun to play with.
Not sure which manifold you're referring to. The crossfire manifold in the pics would use the stock air cleaner. There is no change in the height with any of the mods.

I believe it is batch fire all at once. not sure if 3 or 4 would make a difference. The question of 4 came up before and the ans I believe was yes. It will fire 8 and run port fuel injection setup.

Nice!!! Hope you get a chance to show us how you bored the throttle bodies. I followed your other articles to install reamed bushings in mine, Thanks for the detailed pics and instructions. I would also like to see how you made your "flow bench".

I may sell them for the right price. I will try to post pics later. They do have balance ports machined in.

Renegade $550 at Summit. A Weiand single plane X cellerator $196. Add a used 7.4L TB with adapter and you may have as good performance maybe better top end. I used a Holley dual plane with 7.4L TB but hood rubbed. Hindsight I should have used the Weiand (should) clear. Actually I did(XRAM) Now I am port fuel with a Vic Jr.

The manifold is still available if you are still interested until we pull the tooling. Looks like we will be bringing our old site down this week, it's been up for eight years.
Funny about manifolds, there are all kinds around, it just depends on what you are looking for or wanting to do I guess, some work better than others. One thing I can say for a fact is, that ours out performs a XRam hands down. Ben73 in Australia on the corvette forum proved that with just a XRam to Renegade swap on his 383, 84 CFI vette. He picked up 3 tens in the 1/4 mile with no other mods done including a tune change, he ran 12.20s constantly. Before the swap he ran a 12.52 I beleive one time and could never repeat that time. There is a long write-up on all that somewhere on the forum, you would have to search for it. Ben was the third person to have one of our manifolds and it was a Pre-Production casting. His was the last one to go out before we started full production.
Good luck with whatever you choose and have some fun.
