Injector Question

I was wondering what the stock injector flow rate is in pounds? Its for an 88 TBI code E.

and can it handle a few pounds more without any other upgrades?

Thanks.

Re: Injector Question

well.. thanks for the chinese, but the only thing I got out of that was yes it can take higher pressure. I need to know what the stock pressure is, and how much higher of a pressure it can take benefitting me in horsepower, before I would have to replace other parts like pumps and intake. or before there is no HP gain and just waisting fuel.

Im not familiar with injectors at all, I just know I have to replace mine and wondering whats best to pop in. At my parts store my choices look to be anywhere from 15 to 32 lbs.

Re: Injector Question

stock early TBI = 12 lbs

no benefit to higher pressure unless there is a need due to mods to engine(exhaust, intake, heads, cam etc) requiring more fuel. the A/F is commanded in the .bin typically 12.3/1 or so for WOT. Increasing the fuel pressure without accomodating with a .bin change will make you run very rich. I think some of us have run stock injectors at >28 lbs.
