Re: TPI OR TBI GAS
To save gas you need to do this: go to the frig and get a nice fresh egg. Carefully place it under the gas pedal. Don't wedge it in too tight, do not want to break it.
Now, drive the car without breaking the egg. If it ends up broken then you won't be getting the best mileage. And will need to get another egg to place under the pedal. Once you master the art of driving with out breaking the egg you can move on to placing 2 eggs under the gas pedal. That will get even better mileage.

Re: TPI OR TBI GAS
To try and answer, I would say the Tuned Port only because it seems to make sense a multi-port system is more efficient with fuel delivery. It be honest tho man I wouldn't have a Camaro, especially from the 80's, and be concerned with gas mileage at the same time.

Re: TPI OR TBI GAS
uncle tom that extra gear has got to be one of the biggest reasons for that, but a good tune and all synthetic fluids aint gonna hurt it a bit.Wish I could find/afford a t-5 for a swap.thats still pretty damn impressive.I get about 22 mpgs on the interstate but I cant go much under 80 even if i try.I`ll have to check it one day.I should have her running again this weekend, with gas the way it is i dont guess it would hurt to slow it down a little.
