problem with coil wires
I am puting in an open air cleaner, and everyone has warned me to make sure the base is not touching the coil wires. are they the wires in the middle of the air cleaner base coming up? and if so, is it ok if the base is touching my spark plug wires?

Re: problem with coil wires
No wires should be touching the metal air assembly housing.. Worst of all the spark plug wires.

Re: problem with coil wires
the wires in the middle of the air cleaner go to your fuel injectors your coil wire is the center wire going to your distributer cap. your coil is just behind your tb.

Re: problem with coil wires
hes talking about the wires that are together that are near the coil forgot what theyre too because i havent seen them in a while but just wrap them with plastic wire loom or electrical tape(a lot) to keep them from rubbing and creating holes in the insulation of them.
i dont think it should touch the wires unless youre talking about the wire part itself and not the ends which go on the distributor. you should move those wires and hold them away and for safety put wire loom over them just in case.
