Need a cold air intake
Trying to find a cold air intake for my 88' TBI, not tech savvy enough to build one myself as I see some other people have done. Where can I get an inexpensive one that fits and installs easily.

Re: Need a cold air intake
do a search for my car in the garage. i have a pic posted of my engine. i bought an ebay tbi intake and used a 4 inch flexible chrome hose with it. the element sits behind the driverside headlights. eventually i will mount an air box or extend the filter into one with a scoop. the cost, about $40
----------
oh yeah, the tbi intake was for a chevy truck around the same year, 88-92

Re: Need a cold air intake
why not just run an open element filter. i don't buy into that whole cold air thing. does the heat really make that much difference? if so, why don't they make one for all the big hp carb motors?
btw, edelbrock 14" filter was about $30 from advanced. take the old one off, remove PCV filter and MAT, replace with edelbrock. that was easy to install. might have taken 5min...with a beer.

I know exactly what you're talking about, but with that do yiou take off all of the tubing and snorkel and not use it then? just have the open air cleaner, and no air intake period?

Do I just take off all the hoses, snorkel, intake, etc. and install the open air cleaner, and not use the hoses and snorkel at all? Is that what I do?
