Air Cleaner Mod ?'s

I have a 92 RS 305 TBI. I was wondering since i cant find a dual snorkel air cleaner, if I tore off the snorkel and made another hole on the other side and left it that way. Yes i know that i will be takin in more hot air but with my car the air cond. lines and pump is in the way to route another snorkel. Would that work good? I was also thinking if not that then basically do the same thing but put little short snorkles on with no hoses. The reason im trying to do this is cause i have already put the open air cleaner on and it feels like i have no power when im going but it takes off really good. but with the factory air cleaner on it dont take off that well but when im going it gets it. So im trying to find a in between thing. Well tell me if ya think this will work!

If you put in an after market coolent recovery tank, which is much smaller than the O.E. one, it will give you enough room to snake around the a/c lines which seem to serve no other purpose than to block any attempt at a dual snorkel. The factory single snorkel doesn't flow enough at launch to feed the car's full cfm need, the power lag you feel off the line. But, as you gain speed, the ram effect of the snorkel increases. With this increased ram effect and cooler air combonation, it produces more power than an open air filter (but the 1/4 mile times are still faster with the open air vs. single snorkel). Instead of jerry-rigging your car, check out www.ramairbox.com . They sell a high flow, unrestricted 4in. dual snorkel that uses a 14X3 in filter for high performance use. This is the best way to go.

Already been to ramairbox.com and they told me it is hard to run the snorkel tubes cause of the air cond. I would rather leave the over flow container alone. Im just wondering bout what i mentioned above. Ripping off the snorkel and makin another hole on the other side. Or would that give me the same effect as the open air cleaner. Yes i see your point about when im going and it gets cooler and faster air.
