I just went to my local speed shop and I asked about a TB Spacer. The dude there was Against the idea he said all it will do is mess up my O2 sensor and it is only good for drag cars and since my rear is a highway rear it will do no good ( I can do 80 mph at 2000 RPMs) Any ideas. If this TB spacer dont work I dont know whut I am gonna do for a little boost in power.

tbi spacer is good for .8 horse power if that. give up on the idea. spacers are used to tune the manifolds plenum volume. if you dont know anything about that, ie, have never read a book about manifolds etc... dont use one, because its not worth your $.

HOWEVER, your shop guy is dumb, as are many, it wont do anything to your o2. and the reason its not worth doing is listed above, not his gay reason.

Agreed, TBI spacer good for tuning, not going to make a noticable difference. Better spent on 3.73 and posi .

Well a couple of things that might help the boost ya want is getting a MSD cap & rotor,MSD coil, and 8.5 superconductor wires. I just put that stuff on my car and u can tell a diff. My guess its prob like a 5-7 horse gain. But like i said thats my guess. Also I got some March power and amp underdrive pulleys. I havent put em on yet but they are suppose to ad about 10 horse. Hope that helps ya.

A cap and wires aren't going to make more power unless your original wires were so bad that it was arcing at the distrib (car will mis BAD). MSD and the such will not produce more hp, it's been proven. Power is air and fuel, if the spark is there, that's all it needs. I have yet to see somebody run a better time by running different wires/cap and/or a C.D. spark system! Now if your car needed wires (because old ones were broken etc.) THEN you would notice a BIG difference in the overall running. One thing that makes a nice addition to older cars is an HEI setup, more volts = better spark (more reliable, not powerful). If you can't afford a custom eprom, run some good gas (93/94) and advance the timing to about 6 base. This will increase spark advance acrosse the whole table and you will notice a slight increase in throttle response (more fun).
The March pulleys are good if you want power power power. The problem is that they underdrive the alternator from stock (3:1) to something less which will produce low volts at idle. If you aren't staging with the torque converter.....you'll notice an anoying idle rpm surge (ecm wants more power so it increases rpm). The pulleys do work but I don't think it's worth it for a street car. Some will say ever bit counts. Those people had better not have ac, a mechanical steering box, no interior panels etc. (Tim aka NJ Speeder). Heck, do what he does, don't go with an open element, go with NO element .
My list from stock would in order:

That's as far as I would go personally with a 305 Lo3. The Lo3 just has too many things against it (bad cam, crap heads, 2 bolt, small dia pistons). The only good thing is it's a roller cam (not sure if it makes any difference with such a small cam). I've heard that people like 1.6 rockers but I don't think it's worth it. Heck, if you're going with 1.6 rockers, for the price you could keep the 1.5's and do a cam swap!!!

If my Speed Shop guy said that a TBI spacer would "mess-up the O2 sensor", I'd leave fast, after I got up off the floor from the 10 minutes of gutteral laughing. And he'd surely not see me again...

What a crank. Go to a shop where people actually have assembled and run motors. Helps a lot.

I think TBI spacers were designed for trucks. They do help them because of the torque cam in them. But that's it. It sounds like the guy that told you all this about the O2 sensor was a carb guy who would put a tunnel ram w/2 750's on a stock 305.
