anybody use the edelbrock pro flo 1000 air cleaner? supposedly flows 1000cfm. dont know how good it will look on top of my tbi compared to the signature 14" chrome cleaner but if it flows 1000cfm it might be worth sacrificing beauty. but yeah, just wanted to know if anybody is using one and if it works well.

Howdy there Augusta, GA. (I grew up in Richmond Co.)

The fact that the air cleaner flows 1000 cfm won't matter to the performace of the car if the TB can only use 300. Basically if you like the way it looks on top of the engine and you can get it sealed up right with the TB, go for it.

I have got to get one of those strut tower braces. The problem with the pro flo is that I think it would look like S**T on top of the TB. My buddy has one on his 65' F-100 and he has to replace the foam triangle filters everynow and then and they are cheap. The whole setup is only like 15 bucks compared to the 30-50 you pay for a 14" setup. So price wise, someone could prolly just get the pro flo. I already have the edelbrock signature 14". Im gonna get some engine pay pics soon, ive been cleaning it up. I got a new catch can yesterday, just gotta mount it sometime.

The pro-flow is a really fugly air cleaner. IIRC, theyre called the triangles of death because the foam elements would get sucked into the carb.

Definitely agree with Cadillac on this one, 1000-cfm is a bit overkill, for just about any street engine. If you like the way it makes your engine look however, then by all means, go for it...
