Edlebrock Performer TBI intake installation help!

I'm putting a Edlebrock Performer TBI intake on my L03 engine right now (well, it's on the engine but nothing has been bolted on it yet. I'm having a problem with the fuel lines, I can't get the TBI in place with them installed and I can't put the TBI on first then install the lines, the vaccuum port that screwes into the back side of the manifold on the runner hits the fuel line, kinda annoying. Has anyone had this problem before? What can I do to fix it? And are their any orher problems I have to watch out for when installing this thing? Thanks!

Rebend the lines, or go get highpressure rubber lines, some worm clamps. and the fuel line adapter plugs.

I'm going to have this problem with my manifold too. Thats why i want to swap to braided steel.

You shouldn't have this problem with the Edelbrock intake. The Holley Projection intake is the one you'd have real trouble with.

You should "carefully" bend the line so it doesn't interfere with the vacuum port. Bolt the TB on first, then tweak the line as required. Those hard lines were pre-bent for the stock setup and the Edelbrock is just slightly higher (1/4"), so you must adjust for that. I never had a problem when I used the Edelbrock intake. I did with the Holley.

Well, it wasn't easy, but I got it done. Tonight I'm going to finish it up, I hope it runs and doesn't leak (I have bad luck when leaks are possiable)! I took a look at the old intake, the ports had a green tint to them, same color as coolant, I think that there is a crack in the intake leaking coolant into the engine, that explains the white smoke I got from the exhaust.

I could do a tech article if anyone is interested.
I actually got it done tonight, had to run to the auto parts store twice, but it's done. It runs good now, pulls much harder past 3000, looks way cool too, better then to black stock one for sure.

It's a pretty basic swap, everything bolts up and the only modifiction I did was beng the return fuel line with a hammer (don't ask) so it wouldn't hit the rear vaccuum port. Other then that, it's pretty easy.

If anyone has any qustions ask me, I know all about this stuff.
