Cam and Intake on 305TBI
1.would a New cam and intake Manifold inprove the 1/4 mile time alot?
2. does this sound right $238 for a flowmaster exaust system for my car?
3. What do you think I will be running in the 1/4 mile with these mods.
a. Flowmaster Exaust System
b. Trans-Go shift Kit
c. summit 3inch open element 14inch air cleaner
d. Edelbrock Dyno-matched camshaft and intake manifold.
These are the moda I plan on doing in the very near future b/c E-TOWN will be opening March 3. I just want to beat my friends 88 5.0 5spd Mustang w/ flowmaster exaust. His car seems soo fast when he hits second gear. Please Give me some of your guys opinions on my upgrades. Thanks alot.

stock 'Stangs eat stock 305 TBIs for breakfast.
If you really want to beat your friend in the quarter, spray it. A 125-150 shot of the sauce will do wonders. The other mods you speak off will not hurt since they will help the car breathe better. A lower rear gear like a 3.73 and some trans work (shift kit and converter) will help keep the stock motor in right power band for good trap speed & 60' times. Also get a pair of Drag Radials. Gatorbacks etc. WILL go up in smoke.
I used to run a BONE STOCK 120,000 mile 305 TBI with 3" open element filter, SLP cat back exhaust 3.73 posi, SLP converter with a B& M shift kit, & 125 Hit of N20. I ran high 14s all day long on a plain Radial tire with no major tuning and LOTS of tire spin. To be honest I did not bother too much with tuning this setup since I was building/installing my 383 last summer.

FRMULA, even with the 125 shot of juice you were only running HIGH 14's. I thought that would get you like 14.3 14.6 times. Oh well. I want to run at least 14.7. I would be SOOOOO happy with that!!

Now I didn't see what you said for a rearend but that will help a lot. You might have the 2.73 or the 3.08 I think are the two ones. I would goto a 3.73 posi unit to help out the motor. I don't know what type of money you have to spend too but the intake and cam are a good idea, I don't know about the one that you looking at. Only thing be sure that the lift in not over (I think) .xxx (Pablo help me out here)For your exhaust I had a flow master setup and I paid 300 installed, they also threw on a new cat. Made a world of differnce and sounded alot better. Then I got board and just took out everything, that actually was a noticable differnce. I don't really think that you will go wrong with what you want to do but a cam will make power but its a pain to install and the heads on the LO3 are not the best. If you want the power inake, exhuast, cam then get a good head job or buy new/used ones that are better. 14X3, good! Take a look at what I have done I like to play with the 'stangs and they usually see my tail lights.
