What's Up Everyone - I'm still alive.

Sorry for posting something somewhat non-tech.

Just wanted to let all my TBI brethren (or x tbi brethren) i'm still kicking.

The car is still a 355 800 Double Pumper Blown 1992 Firebird. Still runs like a scolded dog. Don't drive it much anymore though because of my new toy - 2001 Yamaha 600R.

How are all the tbi cars coming? Whose is posting the best #'s?

I wish I had kept the tbi setup without the blower. Now I have a 8mpg insane car that I only drive when it's real cold or raining :-). The tbi setup was plenty fast and still got great mileage.

P.S. My icq # is 7601573.

Damn you haven't been around since before the board was down. Have you run your car at the strip yet? I wanna know what it runs.

Still haven't run the car or had it dynoed since the carb, cam, blower, tranny upgrades.

Was running a low 13 before that and dynoed at 320HP, 365Ft LBS.

I was working out of town and didn't even start the car for 2 months.. now my carb acts funny.. It needed a rebuild anyway..

As soon as I get around to doing it i'll take the car out to the track.. I did finally put a new tranny in the car.

Shane......Buss........you son of a.....

How the hell are ya?

Whats up man? How are things? Long time no talk. Your ride sounds killer man. I will need some tech help from you in the near future. I am not putting a blower on my new engine but I will be converting it to carb so I will need some help. Hey, you want to buy a hypertech chip from me? By the way, that chip you sold me is still working hard. I made my car look totally different, engine and exterior wise, since you have been gone. Check out the car at the site. You still have the same pics of your car and ugly lookin chicks at your site?

So you got an 2001 Yamaha 600R? Thats kick a$$ man. I like superbikes. My friend has a 2000 Honda RC51 1000R. That bike kicks *** .

Anyways, give me a hollar if you see me on AOL. sn: J007Golden Lata man

People keep asking me what the bike runs..

I took the bike to the track after having it 3 days (first bike also).

I had a 2.4 60ft (AWFULL), and missed 3rd gear.

12.2 @ 111

Bikes are crazy.. bone stock.

I hear ya Shane. I am majoring in Managment Information Systems. I heard the money is going to be great. I can't wait. I got a job lined up that is paying me 10.00 an hour right now as a computer tech guy. I am just beginning so I am not going around campus by myself yet, its a learning process I guess, like a work studies.

I went to Texas A&M for 2 years (computer engineering).

I took an internship, and at the end of the internship they made me a great offer.

In addition to my pay, They are paying for all my MCSE training and certifications (as well as CISGO).

I still plan on finishing school, but i think for now this is the best thing.

I makeing more money now than i would coming out of a&m with a computer engineering degree.

a&m is a great school for computers.
but you are learning more now then you ever could just taking classes.
go back or not, youll probably be fine. i dont know how many people get stuck because of no degree in the computer field as long as you know the right stuff. it does happen in many others however.
so what exactly do you do right now?

ive got connections for jobs all over the place now and did think about just going to work for my parents or some of their friends, but my dad is paying for school and he said dont be in a hurry so i stayed. i just want the degree, in my case i know ill have a lot of help getting hired because of who i know. Dont get me wrong, I do really know stuff too.

Shane, good to see ya on the boards again...I thought you had died or fell off the face of the earth, or heaven forbid, converted to a FORD man .

I want a street bike also but my wife would kill me if I tried to get one but she did let me get a dirt bike. I used to ride them all the time and just now getting back into them, doing a little bit of motorcross racing also.

One buddy put a air horn on his Honda Shadow so he could let the idiots know he was next to them when they started to run him off the road...it, works! I would be kind of scared to ride a bike around my town because I have a bad enough time as it is with idiot drivers and my car much less trying to deal with them on a street bike. I probably wouldn't last long before someone pulled right out in front of me. Hey if they do it when I'm in my car they surely are going to do it on a small motorcycle. Have fun!

I wish I would have went into computers instead of engineering and still may revert back to computers. I've already acted as our company's computer admin for 6 months and then had to teach the new guy how to install windows NT on a computer...and he had a degree! So you can imagine how much about networking he knew...NADA! He's making more than me!

good to have ya back!

I'm a Manufacturing Engineering major at CSUN. www.csun.edu Think I should do a Computer science minor? Think it would help much when job hunting? I need 4 more classes for a Geography minor. pretty sure I'll do that.
I do CAD/CAM programing and should be making bank but I work for my dad guess I can't complain while he pays most of the bills.

Good to hear from you again.
My friend had that bike for a couple of weeks. He sold it, he just got tired of it. He also sold his 350 s10 all to work on his dirt bike and 4.3L GMC s10. He's saving up for a supercharger. He seems to have expensive bursts of intrest that don't have enough time to turn into hobbies. Good guy though.

Be careful what you ask for or you might get it. Yes, I'm back. I elected to take some time off to do some soul searching, call it maturity. I seriously burned out on F-bodies and the "triple thirdgen site civil war" that was going at that time only made me more so. I couldn't believe that adults could act like that...

When this site vanished, and 3rdGen.org and the other clone sites popped up, when the members all scattered, when no one knew anything but rumor and truth was hard to find if it could be found at all, I just wrung my hands and walked away from it all.

I really didn't like fighting with certain other members here and it wasn't doing the site any good for PR reasons, so I chose to leave instead of spinning my wheels in public. I put my wrenches down, stopped work on my cars, stored them, and walked away for the last 14 months.

I only found this site again by stumbling over a link to the PROM burning and I felt a twinge of memory, so I looked around to see if I had been missed or not. Looking back through the archives, I see that while I may have matured, those I chose to leave behind apparently did not. Not very surprising, if you don't expect too much of them, they might not let you down...

Feels good to be back. Sorry that I'm late... Did you miss me?

I have been online with thirdgen.org since I discovered it in early 1998. I have come and gone just like Black Echo, but I always wind up back. It looked like I was going to sell the old camaro for awhile, cause like some of you guys, I was a computer major in college. I graduated in 2000, started making good money, and bought some other toys. What I have found is though, I'm a thirdgen junkie, and I just had to keep my car and do all that I wanted to do to it be couldn't afford to in school. I don't post too much that's all, but I was around back when Brad92RS was around. Anyway, welcome back fellas! P.S., my old name way back was stock25th.
