Wasting Tires

P295/50/R17s hate me. Here is what happens from a standing burnout to 65 MPH. It was a WOT snap, followed by half gassed from the second the tires really broke loose, to keep the speedo from pegging itself. You can hear in the movie, when I started drifting sideways at 35-40 MPH, me feathering out of the throttle then getting about 1/2 way back into it. Not a bad 0-60 time given the massive wheelspin.

On a side note, IF someone knows how to get this tank to hook short of mini tubing it or using a non-streetable tire, let me know. I already have Caltracs on the rear.

The Weiand is on it again, this time it is only at 3-4 PSI in an attempt to keep a stockish 4L60E in it!

The 14 bolt SF rear end with 3.07s and an Eaton Posi seem to be fine with the torque and the tire size. The 700r4 is the weak link now. I even had to bump up the driveline to a 1-ton van driveshaft and get an aftermarket type U-Joint to step up the size from the 700r4s yoke(have plans to drop in a 4L80E in the future).

Here are a few more from this morning, NO WOT(haven't gone over 2/3s pedal yet) yet, the thing is still PIG RICH. Still sounds pretty good.

EDIT- I am on my lunch today and have put up a couple of videos from this morning 10/26/06.

Here is the Cold Start

Here is my normal moderate throttle (slightly above 1/2) acceleration to cruising speed (40 MPH Limit, OOPS!). The speedo reads considerably under what I was going (DRAC for the Speedo was setup for 4.10s and I have 3.07s), you only have to look at the tree's to see that. You can hear the transmission slipping like mad, when it shifts to 2nd. If I try to go over 1/2 throttle under boost, it is breaking up real bad due to over-richness. Still working on leaning it down, slowly I might add. Don't want any melted pistons. I love how the low-end torque just snaps this heavy thing up and moves it.

HOLY tire smoke batman,...

lets see, a dually rear end with about a 2.00 gear, custom made wheels so you can get 4 of those P295/50/R17s on the back, a transfer case, a front diff, and about 1000 pounds of sand in the back? LOL

that thing is wild, i bet you surprize the hell out of a lot of people

Police officers are supposed to "serve" the community...

I don't know if DFW cops would be up for it though

They might be a little offended.
