My injectors aren't working (Fuel Problems)??

I got a 83 trans am Firebird with 5.0 V8 with crossfire injection. I don't know a lot about cars but my neighbor is a somewhat a mechanic. The other day it wouldn't start. The car turns over but not getting fuel. We took the fuel filter off and checked the fuel pump and all seems fine until we got to the injectors and both aren't working. All of this happend after I noticed hesitation, little smoke when started and took a bit to start when it was cold. I put injection cleaner in it with a full tank of gas and drove around for a little bit and then didn't drive it for the weekend then that sunday night it wouldn't start. Yesterday I picked up 2 injectors from outta another car from the junk yard and they tested them to see if they clicked and was told they were fine. I put one in and started the car but still no fuel. If one goes out does the other too? Electrical problem? Both injectors go out at the same time? Im kinda stuck with no money to send it to the shop and don't know why the injectors aren't working. Its getting gas to them.

p.s. 2 weeks prior I passed emissions if that helps.

When the no fuel issue occurs, check for spark. If no spark then it is a distributor/coil problem. The distributor sends pulses to the ECM. These pulses are used to trigger the ECM to open the fuel injectors. No pulse from the distributor, the ECM doesn't open the injectors.

Even if there is spark, the ICM can still be bad. And cuase the injectors to not fire.

Just pull a spark plug, put the boot back on it and hold the electrode against a grounded metal part (Headers/ Exhaust manifold, cylinder head, etc.) and let someone rotate the engine with the starter.

If there is a spark you should see it jumping from the center electrode to the gound electrode at the spark plug.

well iam sure u checked the 10 amp fuse to make sure its not blown, and if u got both fuel pressure and spark i'd still make the assumtion that the pickup coil in the distributor is bad, it's what sends the signal to the computer to make the injectors work, so first try check with a test light or a volt meter if there is power at the injectors, if there is then replace the pickup coil, and if still nothing then sounds like the computer is dead
