Just got a GREAT deal on heads!!!!
Yea so i've been in contact with dave sarno out here in colorado, he is the go to guy for sbc heads, he runs SCH racing heads in arvada, we were throwing ideas around for what to do to my heads to get some more nuts plus i smoke on startup, figured around 500 for the pair, ported, valve job said he could get 30 dyno proven ftlbs out of em, emailed me and goes man i just put these on ebay, 199 bucks heres the specs
Chevrolet Camaro, Firebird SCCA Racing Heads for 305 c i Casting #14101081 Date F-02-0 Ported to 1205 gasket, bowls blended, Comp Valve Job fresh, Surfaced. Comp Springs, Ret. Locks, Guide Plates, Studs 3/8. Stainless Valves, Bronze Guides. over $900.00 to build. valve sizes 1.94 x 1.50
He built em for a guy a few years back and couldnt foot the bill so they've been sitting and he wanted to get rid of em, i threw in a bid, got outbid this morning so tonight got back on and just as my fears were....it came down to the last SECONDS, few guys and i went back and forth and i won em with 3 SECONDS left,
long story short better heads for 290 bucks, half what i would have spent to have the lo3's worked, he said we would sit down when i go to get em to work out a cam combo to get the most out of em, combining these with a ported tbi, headers, manifold and yes i said i wouldnt but i am heading over to the prom burning forums so i can tune the most out of it

going to pick em up tomorrow, so ya know i'll have pics, ya know the ride home, introducing them to the car, lol, i talked to dave today and he goes paul you got a steal, these were well over 1k to build, i guess the guy he built em for had the porting work done but no valve job or anything, then came back and wanted a valve job and as he said they are completely new heads aside from the casting, then never returned, he said he asked around for ahile other shops he talked about adn everyone said he was bouncing checks then dissapeared, i just happen to give him a buz at the right time and vola, camaros getting a new topend

Your new 081s just about match mine, go with a good moderate roller cam. You should get a broad powerful torque curve and make plenty of HP in the process. 250 RWHP here you come. You will need a perfectly tuned prom and larger injectors to feed it though.

fast, what do you suggest for injectors? I am getting ahold of the guy who does the tuning on my buddies vert, it does low 11's so i wanna talk to the guy about mine, that way i know it will be safe and driveable before i start messing with my own tuning work, unsure of the cam jsut yet, as i said he is gonna go over a few with me but i also have to watch it as i gotta pass emmissions out here, i figure even if i get alittle more power off what i bought, atleast it wont smoke on startup anymore

as promised, i cant stop staring at teh suckers...so sexy,
on the list is
Cam, gonna run a comp, gotta get ahold of them
headers, edelbrock ti techs, i know not the best choice but its better than manifolds and i am no paying the price for slp's i wish i could run long tubes and dumps but emmissions and ground clearance are cutting me off on that
Pushrods, probaly trick flows, always had good luck with that stuff
Manifold, debating the edel tbi or getting a adapter and running a straight dual plane
timing chain, probaly a comp
porting the tbi, bigger injectors, gonna run it easy till i get it tuned
auburn pro posi unit, unsure on my gearing as of now, maybe 3.5x
