Tbi power charger + open element
hello,
I bought an open k&n element but it wil not clear mij coil and wires.
i saw on cfm-tech.com an Turbo City Air Flow Enhancer with adapter .
now my raised base is not round so i think that's not working for me too
anyone an idea?
i must raise my base 1/2 to 1 inch.
Tom

the best i would say do is use a 1/2 inch.from what i hear about tbi spacers is people have linkage issues,i`m sure you`ll get more ideas from others.

I would keep the filter and look for another base. You need to get a non drop base and re-use the top part of your K&N kit. A drop base will almost always come in contact with the coil wire. You can get a non drop base open element kit for around $20.

You could go with a TBI spacer. Anymore than 1/2" makes for some tricky throttle bracket allignment though. I run a 1/2" spacer to clear my air filter. They are just so much money for just a small increase in plenum volume. You can leave the base touching the coil wires provided you put some electrical tape there and make sure there isn't any excessive running.

i think i have the solution.
a company over here in Holland will make a spacer ring.
this spacer will sit between my tbi and air cleaner base.
it will be 2 '' high
