Vortec manifold owners, step inside...
For those of you with the vortec manifolds, what are you doing about your throttle bracket, alternator support bracket, and anything else that was normally bolted to an intake bolt stud? Obviously the vortec heads have the bolt holes in entirely different locations so they wont bolt up as they did stock.
I have the performer vortec but Im not quite sure what the best way is to get these to bolt up to the new intake.
Also, can the stock manifold bolts be reused? Im thinking maybe but it looks like theyd need to be a bit longer to properly anchor into the heads.

Dimented,
I am out for the weekend and away from my computer but I can show you pics of my buds vortec intake. I have a few that should explain things well. He used different bolts. They were the cap screw type that you can tighten with an allen wrench. They are cool.

I had to modify my throttle bracket a little, i think just bend it a little and ream out one of the holes, of corse I didn't have a kickdown cable to deal with. I did use special bolts Bolts . let me know if you need some pictures
hope that was some help need anything just ask

The stock bplts will not fit and I junked the brackets on the intake and exhaust and put grade 10 bolts in the aluminum brackets no problems sence 98.

Bending and grinding is what it took to get the stock bracket to fit. Then the throttle was too short so I had to use zip ties for a couple months before I got around to makeing a really short piece of metal with 2 holes in it for an extension. The TV cable is adjusted to near max but it works.
I used ARP stainless 6 point bolts, they were cheap and look great.
The brackets bolted up fine, the only thing my RPM intake didn't have was a power brake vacuum fitting. I had to tap into the back port that goes to the number 8 cylinder. But ever since I noticed that cylinders spark plug's been darker then the rest I moved the power brake vac line to the center back of my Holley adaptor plate. No more problems with that cylinder and the power brakes work a lot better now .

Description
Vortec Intake Bolts are 5/16" instead of the standard 3/8" used on most GM Small Block intakes. (8 required)
IIRC these have an non threaded lead on them as wellbolts

I have the Edlebrock Vortec air gap rpm manifold. Here is the link and picture of my throttle bracket:https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=268610

Edelbrock makes an adjustable throttle bracket for Vortec heads (do not remember pn). The hole for the cruise is too large for our cable, but Im sure you could add some sort of backing plate to the cable to make it work. I dont have a picture of mine though.
Ask the dealer for the specs on the bolts and get them elsewhere for a lot cheaper. My dad got me socket-head cap screws - seen here
The response above me had the PN posted - EDL-8032

The above # is from Summit Racing.
Here is a picture of the bracket. #1 is the base. #2 is the base on the manifold. You can see how is rides on the lip of valve cover hence pic #1 with work done on the base. #3 is the bracket assembly. I cut off the the cruise control bracket and had it welded onto the new bracket.

I figured out the bracket. I took the stock hracket and gave the rear mounting point a whack with a BFH to bend it to a 90 degree angle. I then drilled a hole for a stud and mounted the stud in place of the rear most bolt. The whole thing then bolted together as it did stock.
Ill see if I can get some pics up.
