is this normal it turns over about 5 times before it starts. its running great now. i didnt know if i maybe needed to replace my ignition coil, dist. cap, and rotor button. how much would a new ignition coil be and how hard is it to change?

Thats par for the course... Takes some time for the fuel to make its way down into the cylinders.

my carburated car cranks once or twice and its going..
I have the same problem with my formula its just getting downright annoying, id also like to figure out why its taking so long
but its gonna be in many peices in my garage in another couple weeks, and I may not ever getting it running right again if tuning is as hard as everyone claims, so lemme know what you find out :P

Thats wrong
if that were the case you would be cranking a long time.
There is a fail safe for the priming and "fuel in crank" function in the ecm which is based upon seeing oil pressure. If the priming and "fuel in crank" goes out then youll have to crank till you see oil pressure in order for the fuel pump to see any power.
This used to happen to me way back when I had a faulty ECM, forget about starting it when hot. Youll crank till the battery is dead.
